On Thursday, June 25, the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society, Inc. joined the myOCN Community Online Gathering for "Let's Talk" hosted by Fr. Christopher Metropulos, Executive Director of the Orthodox Christian Network. The program, “Let’s Talk,” a one hour interactive video session on Zoom, live-streamed on Facebook, was an opportunity to join the myOCN community and thousands online for prayers and discussion.
National Philoptochos President, Maria Logus, and Director of Social Services, Paulette Geanacopoulos discussed how National Philoptochos is responding with a multi-pronged approach to provide financial, emotional, spiritual and loving support to individuals and families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
President Maria Logus gave an overview of the history of Philoptochos, what Philoptochos offers, and asked for those interested in being a part of our work to simply "volunteer." In addition to speaking about the National Philoptochos response to COVID-19, the initiatives launched, and the work of chapters across the nation, chapters were thanked for their continued financial support and philanthropic efforts during this crisis.
Director of Social Services, Paulette Geanacopoulos discussed the Department of Social Services, the services it offers, and how the National office works with the chapters and metropolises. She also described the changes, which have been implemented to quickly assist individuals affected by COVID-19. For more information on the response to COVID-19, click here.
