I wanted to introduce to those of you who don’t know him, Steve Sarigianis, son of James and Florence Sarigianis, grandson of our beloved and esteemed Fr. Steven M. and Presvytera Electra Sarigianis,
Steve grew up in Connecticut and attended the St. Barbara parish in Orange. He first felt drawn to serve Christ and His church as a young acolyte. He graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2010 with a BA in Psychology. Following in the footsteps of his pappou, Steve entered Holy Cross, the fall of 2011. During that time, he served on six short term mission teams and was president of the Missions Committee while studying at the ‘Holy Hill.’ After his solo mission trip to Guatemala in 2013, he discerned the Lord was calling him to long term mission service. He graduated Holy Cross in 2015 with an MDiv and soon after began working as a Pastoral Assistant at Archangels Church in Stamford, CT, under Fr. Harry Pappas.
He is married to Theophani Sarigianis, daughter of Iconographer & Archon Elias and Angela Damianakis, studied at Hellenic College and immediately became active in the campus Missions Committee, having originally been draw to it through her passion for religious freedom at the Patriarchate. As a student Theophani explored a vocation in missions while making several short term trips.
Both Steve and Theophani share a calling to serve Christ as missionaries and look forward to serving the Lord together in Albania under the leadership of Archbishop Anastasios.
To actualize their calling they need first of all our prayers but also our tangible support to underwrite their mission to Albania
They have my blessing to visit the parishes of the DAD and I trust that our faithful will assist them as they begin a new chapter in their service to Christ, His Church and Her faithful..
