LEADERSHIP RETREAT (Oct 20-21, 2017)

Here are the final products of the collaborative, creative, and challenging overnight meeting that was facilitated by Dr. Anthony Bashir & Mr. Richard Robbat, Boston area professionals who donated their time and expertise in Orthodox Christian leadership development:

Mission Statement

The Church of the Archangels is an Orthodox Christian community that welcomes everyone. We experience the love of Jesus Christ and we proclaim and celebrate the Good News of salvation for all God’s people through prayer, worship, fellowship, education, compassion, service, and outreach.

Vision Statement

The parish of the Orthodox Church of the Archangels is committed to:

  • increase the engagement and faith development of youth and young adults by enhancing the quality of current youth ministries and by creating new age-appropriate programs;
  • significantly strengthen financial resources of the church through communication, education, and outreach;
  • deepen and enhance the spiritual growth of the church community
  • build a welcoming church community and strengthen current ministries to engage all segments of the parish.

At least 20-25 Staff, Parish Council members, and Ministry Leaders were present throughout, representing almost all of the ministries of our parish.  The second, and final part of our work will take place on Saturday, January 20, 2018, 9:30 am – 3:30 pm to work on specific, measurable Actions Plans for the near future (3-5 years) to which we will hold ourselves accountable.  Many expressed their delight at the hard work we did, the engaging style of our facilitators, and the end product.  We are all most grateful for the gracious hospitality that the Hantes family (of Maria DeVito) showed us at the Norwalk Inn where we will again meet.  Contact:  Jason Konidaris or Fr.
