Position requires a responsible individual who will professionally fulfill the duties of the Administrator of a residential adult-care facility with focus on the well-being of all residents and the smooth operation of the facility. As Administrator, this individual serves in an unofficial capacity as a representative and ambassador of the Home and the Archdiocese, and must conduct themselves in an appropriate fashion at all times. Individual must be sensitive, motivated and conscientious.
Specifics:
1. Work week consists of 35 hours a week, 5 days a week. Hours are 9-5, Monday to Friday unless otherwise arranged with the President of the Board.
2. ½ hour lunch break and 15 min morning and afternoon breaks.
3. Meals provided during shift.
4. Accountable to the President of the Board of Trustees or their designee.
5. Benefits (vacation & sick time, etc.) as elaborated upon in the Personnel Manual.
Duties:
(not in order of priority or all-inclusive of responsibilities inherent to position)
1. Responsible for the effective daily operation of the facility with specific administrative responsibilities for the various aspects of the operations of the facility – activities, volunteers, case management, food service, housekeeping, maintenance, medical, admissions.
2. Assist in interpreting and complementing the policies, procedures, rules and regulations as established by the Board of Trustees and the New York State Department of Health (DOH) and insuring compliance with same.
3. Daily inspections of the facility to assure compliance with that everything is in working order and that the environment is clean and orderly.
4. Supervise staff and assure that they are fulfilling their responsibilities as set forth in respective job descriptions and in the Personnel Manual. This will include maintaining all personnel files including record of absences/vacations.
5. Meet with visitors to the facility.
6. Serve as a liaison with the residents and their families/representatives.
7. Maintain all policies and procedures as dictated by DOH and see that the Home is always in conformity with those dictates.
8. Perform monthly in-house staff development/training session, stressing professional and respectful behavior on the part of the employees towards the residents.
9. Process all applications and perform admission’s interview for applicants to the Home.
10. Prepare a report for meetings of the Board of Trustees, highlighting the status of “life at the Home” and any issues and challenges.
11. Be available after-hours to deal with “emergencies” and appoint a member of the management staff to act as the administrator when absent.
