IOTA conference participants at Sts Constantine and Helena Church, January 11, 2023.
IOTA’s second mega-conference brought together a historic number of over 400 scholars and clergy from over 43 countries. Over 330 presentations were delivered at nearly 100 sessions. Twelve hierarchs from eight local Orthodox Churches, including Coptic Orthodox, were in attendance. 80% of participants were Orthodox Christians, 8% Catholics, 8% Protestants (including Anglicans), and 4% other.
The IOTA Board wishes to thank the Volos Academy for Theological Studies and the IOTA Group chairs for the successful organization of the conference. Thanks be to God!

In Memoriam: Metropolitan John Zizioulas (1931-2023)
The International Orthodox Theological Association mourns the falling asleep in the Lord of Metropolitan John (Zizioulas) of Pergamon on February 2, 2023. The funeral occurred on Saturday, February 4, at the Metropolis of Athens. Read the full obituary on IOTA’s website homepage.
Included in the obituary is a letter of Zizioulas to Georges Florovsky of December 12, 1961, available here.
