Dear Philhellene,
From May 28 to June 2, 2024, Panhellenic educators, students, and graduate researchers will participate in an intensive and in-depth study of various topics that regard the teaching of the Greek language, the particular educational methodology in diaspora schools, the use of new technological teaching aids, the usefulness of mass media, and more. Participants will explore topics including “Addressing Educators’ Language Mistakes”, “Engaging Second- and Third-Generation Greek Students”, and “Promoting partnerships between Greek schools in the States and Greek universities.”
The program will take place under the guidance of its founder, Professor Nikoletta Tsitsanoudis–Mallidis, Professor of Linguistics and Greek Language at the Department of Early Childhood Education of the University of Ioannina, Associate of the Harvard CHS – GR, and Head of the unit “Greek Language, Culture, and Mass Media,” of the Social Issues, Mass Media, and Education Studies Laboratory at the Department of Early Childhood Education of the University of Ioannina. Maliotis Cultural Center is thrilled to collaborate with Professor Tsitsanoudis to expand the reach of this outstanding Greek language teaching program to the United States for the first time ever.
The 10th International Summer University will take place under the auspices of the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
