About the Training
The Executive Certificate in Religious Fundraising (ECRF) is an intensive course offered through Hellenic College Holy Cross by the Lake Institute on Faith & Giving of Indiana University. ECRF is an intensive program with a practical application project, offered this Fall 2021 as an online 8-week course. The course provides the research, tools, and customized training to meet the growing needs of leaders in parishes and faith-based organizations. ECRF helps participants learn the cultural, organizational, and philanthropic practices unique to religious institutions. These practices in turn enable donors motivated by spiritual and religious values to experience the joy of generous giving.

This year’s ECRF is offered through Office of Vocation & Ministry in collaboration with the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese’s Department of Stewardship and Evangelism with support from Leadership 100. “This course helped develop a stronger understanding of creating a positive and joyful atmosphere in encouraging people to support the act of blessed giving: giving because one really is aligned with and believes in the good outreach ministry of the parish and the local Christian family. This encouragement to give goes past just the local parish–it changes the inner character of people so that they don’t feel obligated to give, but rather that they now desire to be part of growing and increasing their church’s witness to the world. And it helps the clergy better understand the act of giving so as to better approach and better appreciate those who are renewed givers.”  – Metropolitan Nicholas of Detroit

Metropolitan Nicholas and five of his clergy participated in the 2020 ECRF online course. Join us for the 2021 cohort!
