HCHC UPDATE

Fall Semester’s Incoming Students

Hellenic College Holy Cross joyfully welcomed one of the largest incoming classes in its 86-year history this semester. Notably, Hellenic College’s undergraduate community grew by about fifty percent. Holy Cross also experienced a significant rise in its student body population, partly due to the MTS and ThM degrees now being offered online.

This growth coincides with our national outreach efforts through our Regional Representatives program, including participation in Clergy-Laity assemblies, summer camps, OCF gatherings, YAL conferences, Metropolis dance festivals, the St. John Chrysostom oratorical festivals, and parish gatherings in each of the nine Metropolises. Community-wide efforts to hone communications to our social media subscribers have inspired alumni to refer students to us. We have learned that priests, alumni, and friends are the most impactful influencers for enrollment at HCHC. We are deeply grateful to all those who have helped to spread the word about our beloved School. Most of all, we are grateful to God for these new students who have recognized that HCHC is their community of faith and learning. Through our periodic communications, the Enrollment Management team hopes to provide information about HCHC to the Orthodox communities it serves.
In a recent press release regarding enrollment, President George M. Cantonis emphasized the importance of training future priests and encouraged support from clergy and hierarchs in identifying potential seminarian candidates. His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of the Greek Orthodox Church of America and Chairman of HCHC’s Board of Trustees expressed confidence in our institution’s continued success and growth. In gratitude,

Patronal Name Celebration of St. Luke on October 18

We can learn much from St. Luke’s example. Being a scholar and a well-educated man, he rejected the wisdom of this secular world and instead turned his mind toward the truth of Christ. He chose the true Wisdom– Christ. Through the intercessions of St. Luke the Evangelist, may we cultivate godly minds by fervently seeking the True One– Christ!
“O Holy Apostle and Evangelist Luke, intercede to our merciful God, that He may grant our souls forgiveness of sins” (from the apolytikion).
