I have known Despina for more than 15 years while serving part time at Holy Trinity Church in New Rochelle.  She has led the charge for continuing the “Midnight Run” ministry to feed and clothe the homeless in the NY area, published a book about how this has impacted those who offer themselves (from many communities of faith), and spoke at our parish a few years ago about this sacred work.  I first knew Alexandra as a teenager who later went on to get a graduate degree in theology from our Seminary (yes:  women do this, not just men).  She even interviewed for the position of pastoral assistant here in the past.  Let’s do all that we can do help her in a critical time of need.  This is an exceptional family.  – Fr.
