The Parish Council voted to create a new, full time staff position called “Pastoral Assistant.”  It is a professional position that will focus primarily on youth ministry, but also include chanting along with some administrative and pastoral responsibilities.  Qualifications for the position include sincere commitment to the Orthodox faith, substantive knowledge of the Orthodox Tradition (graduate theological degree preferred), experience in youth ministry, passionate desire to build relationships with youth and families, skill in chanting, and ability to maintain confidentiality.  Start date is either July 1 or August 1.

Beginning salary is $40,000, along with benefits (Social Security, Medical Insurance, Auto allowance, smart phone, etc).  The entire amount can be paid for without adding anything to our Operating Budget, since we now know that we can reduce office expenses without any negative effect on the services we provide.
A detailed job description has been sent to our Seminary and have posted it on OrthodoxJobs.com through the Archdiocese.
