I had the extraordinary privilege to know Jim Forest personally and to benefit greatly from his pioneering work in the overlooked (and greatly misunderstood) ministry of peace-making, along with his exceptional writings. Our parish may recall Nicholas Sooy, graduate student at Fordham and coordinator of the Orthodox Peace Fellowship in North America, visiting our church in October of 2018, to offer the sermon and then present during Coffee Hour on peace-making. It was a memorable encounter of a wonderful, bright young man with a lot to offer.
