French or Arabic Language Interpreters – must be 18 years old.
- Assist interpreting in French or Arabic in our Immigration Legal Services Program.
- This is a remote opportunity and hours/days are TBD.
Outreach Ambassador – must be 18 years old and fluent in Spanish.
- Host 1:1 sessions onsite to teach participants about our digital communication channels and social media resources such as Facebook, Instagram, B1C’s website, SMS text system and B1C’S digital catalog.
- Must be tech savvy and familiar with social media channels, web search, and digital resources.
- Must have an updated smartphone (Iphone 7 or android Samsung 7 or above needed)
- Familiar using Zoom meetings, online platforms and Microsoft Office.
- Must follow all B1C COVID safety protocols.
- Training will be provided
- Monday to Friday, two shifts available from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm or 1:00pm – 4:00pm
- Minimum 2 month commitment
Technology Literacy Tutor – must be 16 years old.
- Work remotely with B1C participants to practice basic computer skills and teach common technology troubleshooting strategies.
- English/Spanish fluency a plus.
- Must have experience using Zoom meetings + online platforms + Microsoft Office.
- Day and Time flexible depending on the tutor and student availability
- B1C will provide some materials, but the instructor is expected to research for resources.
- One to one sessions.
- Time commitment: 45 minutes a week tutoring + prep time.
- Minimum 3 month commitment.
English Language Learning (ELL) Tutor – must be at least 14 years old, preferably 16+
- Tutor an adult immigrant English via Zoom for 45 minute one to one sessions.
- Must be tech savvy and comfortable using Zoom.
- We’ll provide some resource materials, but you must have the ability to tutor & plan sessions independently. You will also need to send out a Zoom invite to your English learner.
- Schedule flexible depending on volunteer and learner availability.
Social Worker Intern – must be at least 18 years old and fluent in Spanish.
- Ideal for anyone interested in the fields of social work, mediation, community service.
- Handle cases and advocate for vulnerable population.
- Gather and translate documents and information relevant to the case.
- Must speak and write Spanish fluently.
- Days and times are very flexible and it can be adapted to the intern availability.
- Three month volunteer commitment is ideal but flexible.
- Commitment is 5 to 8 hours per week.
Job Search Clinic Mentor – must be 21 years old.
- Work remotely with participants that are searching for a job. Help them learn how to use strategies for online job searches, write a cover letter & resume and practice interview skills.
- Must be familiar with resume and cover letter creation, job search engine use, interviews preparation and follow up.
- English/Spanish fluency a plus
- Must have experience using Zoom meetings and webinar features + online platforms + Microsoft Office.
- Day and time flexible depending on the tutor and student availability
- B1C will provide some materials, but the instructor is expected to research additional resources if needed.
- Time commitment: 1.5 hour a week + prep time.
- Minimum 3 month commitment
