Please post with this caption: I have known Panagia Philanthopini, a remarkable ministry of the Annunciation Women’s Monastery in Ormylia, Chalkidi, Greece for many years. Their Elder, Aimilianos of blessed memory, had the prophetic foresight to establish this medical center decades ago to share the healing power Christ’s love with all who come for free services, regardless of race, nationality or religion (both are located only about one hour drive from Thessalonica). Evidence of the high quality of care is shown by the University of Pennsylvania Medical School which has been a partner in the past. The center specializes in medical care for poor children from rural Greece, the Balkans, even Asia Minor, along with digital mammograms for early detection of breast cancer for underprivileged women. This ministry is of the highest integrity since all 100+ women in the monastery (which includes professionals in the medical field) take vows of voluntary poverty and receive no compensation for their services.
